Both American osteopathic physicians and European osteopaths call themselves DOs. American practitioners are Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine, and European practitioners have a Diploma in Osteopathy. Doctors of Osteopathy is a restricted title to those belonging to the Colleges of Physicians and Surgeons. (aacom.org).

Manual Osteopathy is a medicine-free, gentle, non-invasive, low-force, and pain-free form of manual therapy that focuses on the health of the whole body, mind, and spirit. There are no investigations (Blood work, X-ray, CT scan, etc.) & no prescription, OM therapist uses his/ her hands for assessment and treat symptoms by manipulating body structure and allow the body to self-heal, using a variety of techniques. These techniques may include Osteoarticular, Visceral manipulation, Advance Myofascial remodeling, Craniosacral therapy, & Manual Lymphatic drainage. Manual Osteopathy restores proper body mechanics, nerve impulses, and the circulation of body fluids by removing restrictions throughout the body.
No health treatment is free of potential side effects, whereas, after a manual osteopathy session patient feels immediate relief but some experience soreness, or mild to moderate fatigue which fades within 24 to 48 hours.

What experience one can expect during 1st consultation-
MO/MOT takes a detailed history of the primary concern in addition to past medical history, Family history, social history, and medication history followed by Osteopathic assessment and Treatment. The treatment plan is discussed with the client. The treatment is guided by the Osteopathic assessment. Osteopathic treatment is focused on the finding gathered during the assessment that is contributing to the client’s condition.

• hand, shoulder, and elbow pain
• tennis and golfer’s elbow

• Arthritis,
• Stress/ Anxiety/ negative emotional energy

What should I wear?
Please avoid jeans, pants, & belts. Better to be in T-shirts, Tank tops, Shorts, or yoga pants, so that the patient is comfortable, and the therapist is able to visually assess the body and anatomical body structures.

A physician referral is not needed to see a manual Osteopath.

She utilizes various techniques such as Swedish Massage, Myofascial Release, PNF stretching (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation), and Trigger Point Release therapy. Aurora has taken continued education in Advanced Sports Massage Therapy.

Before embarking on her journey of becoming a Registered Massage Therapist, Meagan spent a year in Guangzhou, China studying Chinese language and culture. As her interest in health and wellness grew, she enrolled at West Coast College of Massage Therapy where she successfully graduated in 2015 and fulfilled her goal of providing medical care in a calming environment. She spent the first seven years of practice servicing the downtown Vancouver, New West, and tri-cities communities before moving back to her hometown of Abbotsford in 2023.

Meagan’s practice is focused in perinatal health, and in 2021 she began taking birth doula coursework and has had the honour to provide her clients with massage, education, and advocacy during their births. During her RMT practicum she gained the experience of working with high risk pregnancies and complicated labours at BC Women’s Hospital in Vancouver. She has taken numerous continued education courses on pregnancy, postpartum, and perinatal abdominal massage.

After having her two kids she decided to work locally in the Abbotsford area treating a wide variety of conditions. Throughout the years she’s volunteered at the ride to conquer cancer, Fort Langley half marathon and the Cloverdale rodeo treating the riders.
